Collections XV

Four items are contained in this volume. The first is a reprint, editedby N. W. Bawcutt, of one of Ralph Crane's three transcripts of Middleton's AGame at Chess, the abbreviated version now in the Bodleian Library (MS Malone25). Specimen pages from another Crane transcript of A Game at Chess, BritishLibrary (MS Lansdowne 690), are also included. The second item is a reprint,prepared by David Carnegie from a manuscript in the Harvard Theatre Collection,of a player's part in an otherwise unknown Jacobean play. The third item is acollection by John Elliott of various records from the archives of the MiddleTemple relating to dramatic and musical entertainments between 1613 and 1643.The last item, prepared by C. E. McGee from documents in the Pepys Library,Magdalene College, Cambridge, is a letter from Sir Henry Killigrew to the Earlof Leicester, enclosing proposals from an anonymous Italian craftsman for asplendid fireworks display for Queen Elizabeth.Bawcutt, Nigel is the author of 'Collections XV' with ISBN 9780197290316 and ISBN 0197290310.
