Dramatic) Approximately 70-75 min. The WWBF explores our national obsession with fame and how it can affect the lives of teen-agers. Five high school students have formed The WWBF, a club that has as its name and motto four words that declare the resolve of its members: We Will Be Famous. Whether as a fashion model or a film-maker or a psychic, all of the club members know they will be making their mark on the world in a big way. However, when Ally, the club founder, returns from a disastrous acting audition, she shakes the foundation of the group by declaring that she will disband the WWBF. Their dreams are a farce, Ally tells her friends; they are only fooling themselves. When the others refuse to let her give up, Ally hatches a desperate plan to launch them all into stardom. When, by the end of the play, this too fails, Ally is left facing a bleak future she cannot endure. The dramatic conclusion of the play leaves the audience moved not only by the plight of the five members of the WWBF, but also by an important question: What is the price of our desperate need to be noticed?Cast: 4 Females, 1 MaleHaehnel, Alan is the author of 'WWBF : Dramatic Play', published 2003 under ISBN 9781932404128 and ISBN 1932404120.
