This book is devoted primarily to injuries of the eye. The first of these is an account of how Benvenutus repaired the split eyeball of a boy from Messina and actually restored his sight (1011-18). This is followed by instructions for diagnosing and treating damage to the sight caused by blows to the forehead, temples, or cheekbones (1047-74).
