Addison, Graeme

SUMMARY

Graeme Addison pioneered whitewater rafting in Southern Africa, opening the first river tourism company there. He has kayaked in the Alps and in Wales, and in the USA has rafted the Grand Canyon and tackled Grade 4-5 rivers in the Appalachians and Cascade mountains. In the 1980s, Graeme Addison inspired the design of the 'Crocodile', a rugged inflatable two-seater canoe which has proved to be a successful craft on shallow, fast-flowing rivers around the world. He is a founder member of the Southern African Rivers Association and has also acted as head of its instructor council. Graeme currently runs the tourism portfolio for the International Rafting Federation, and in his spare time he continues to train river guides. He lives in Pretoria, South Africa.Addison, Graeme is the author of 'Whitewater The World's Wildest Rivers', published 2003 under ISBN 9780762725625 and ISBN 0762725621.
