what would you do?What Would You Do? is an interactive game that offers participants an exciting way to explore the opposing but related concepts of collaboration and competition. It presents a variety of decision-making scenarios out of which ethical dilemma emerge. The activity is based on the classic Prisoner's Dilemma activity. The What Would You Do? game contains eight decision-making scenarios. For each scenario, players have to decide whether to take a collaborative or competitive road, scoring points for each of several rounds. Points are based on how an individual's choice compares with those of the other players in the group. At the end of the game, players compare their decisions with the other players. The first scenario mirrors the original Prisoner's Dilemma-two prisoners are captured and brought in for questioning. Each has to decide whether to collaborate (which results in a lighter sentence) or save their own skin (which results in no punishment for one prisoner, and a heavy sentence for the other). Each of the next seven scenarios introduces additional problems that turn up the heat and force the participants to make increasingly difficult ethical decisions. The Leader's Guide contains everything needed to introduce and facilitate the game including: background information on the Prisoner's Dilemma game structure, an overview of the game, facilitator processing notes, debriefing questions with discussion notes on a variety of topics, and suggested learning extensions. What Would You Do? will help your participants understand the benefits of collaboration versus competition; make better choices; and show them what it takes to work in partnership in order to achieve the best results for everyone.Praise For What Would You Do?"What Would You Do? is a very practical game that illustrates the value of acting ethically in the business world. This should be in great demand in today's environment."Alan Richter, president, QED Consulting and coauthor, Lost in Cyberspace"Please give a perfect score to What Would You Do?-a risky yet telling tool for partners and for teams. It also addresses a concern that many smart companies are struggling with. I would buy it for the supervisor who wants to know the 'real deal' about employees-is it denial, collusion, or collaboration that gets them and keeps them in the door?" -Wendy B.
