At the same time as solicitor Lennox Kemp takes on, against his better judgement, a lucrative request to trace missing Sieglinde Prentiss, his assistant Franklyn Davey is helping his fiancee Dinah to come to terms with the tragic loss of her college friend Annabel Angus - presumed dead in the carnage of New York's World Trade Center.
