Today's Health Information Management: An Integrated Approach

Over the past quarter century, new developments in technology, law, and organizational management have changed the profession of health information management. Once seen as the guardian of a paper-based medical record, the health information management professional has moved to the development and implementation of the electronic health record. As the need for health information has grown, so has the need to manage that health information. The health information professional plays a more central role in the delivery of healthcare than ever before.
