DePetrillo has worked professionally in the computer software industry for the last 9 years in a range of different positions and with various companies. After earning his Master of Computer Science from the Courant Institute of Mathematics at New York University he began working for ABIT Technology LLC in New York City, a U.S. subsidiary of a leading financial software company, now ABIT AG, located in Meerbusch-Lank, Germany. He worked at ABIT as a developer and eventually as Director of the New York office, where he worked for 4 years until becoming an independent consultant for the ABIT Innovation Group (AIG), the research and development arm of ABIT AG. At AIG he was the responsible for creating "all things XML" and documenting the development of a cutting edge ASP server that contained many of the features now more easily implemented using Microsoft .NET.
