SUMMARY

Researched for more than half a century, the author-publisher has uncovered more than 200 Beissel families with 100 spelling variations. Beissel first became interested in genealogy when he was asked if he was related to Conrad Beissel, who lived from 1691 to 1768 & was the founder of the Ephrata Cloister. Years later, Beissel learned that he was not only related but that their family history goes back 20 generations to the year 1370(ca). Beissel has shared his knowledge with friends & relatives by issuing a twice-yearly newsletter called The Wedge. This newsletter is what led Beissel to writing this book THE WEDGE. The author has completed four trips to Europe. Eberbach, Germany is the sister city of Ephrata, PA & the ancestral home of Conrad Beissel. The Neckar River Valley is so beautiful that it is no wonder that the Beisel-Beissels chose to live here.Beissel, James D., Sr. is the author of 'The wedge: Beisel/Beissel international genealogy' with ISBN 9780962315909 and ISBN 0962315907.
