She has served on the Board of Education in East Orange, NJ. After her retirement from science, Dr. Johnson has devoted herself to golf, volunteering at major tournaments, as a golf photographer (of such luminaries as Els, Singh, Woods, Goosen, Inkster, Mallon, Sorenstam, and Webb), and as a fan.
