Joan D. Johnson, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Physical Education and former Chair of the Department of Physical Education and Athletics at California State University, Los Angeles. She has competed in Grand Slam events in Australia, England (Wimbledon), and the United States. Recognized as a pioneer in intercollegiate tennis for women, Johnson has coached teams at the national collegiate level, and several of her players have won national championships. Selected as the U.S. Women's Tennis Coach for the World University Games held in Sofia, Bulgaria, Johnson has been inducted into the Women's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Paul J. Xanthos, M.S., is Professor Emeritus of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California. As men's tennis coach at Pierce, he led teams to five consecutive Western States Conference Championships. In the Metropolitan Conference, his teams won 13 Conference Championships. Xanthos was honored as Conference Coach of the Year 18 times. Named a Master Professional by the U.S. Professional Tennis Association, Xanthos has been inducted into the Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Ann V. Lebedeff, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Physical Education and Athletics at Pomona College and Head Women's Tennis Coach at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. As a collegiate player, Lebedeff won many national doubles titles. As a coach, she has led the Pomona-Pitzer team to consistent top-ten finishes and to the NCAA Division III Doubles title in 2000. A three-time recipient of the NCAA Coach of the Year Award, Lebedeff has been named Coach of the Decade for Division II Women's Tennis.
