Willem van der Does (1889-1966) was a widely admired Dutch landscape painter and book illustrator. Born in Rotterdam, he lived and worked in the Dutch East Indies before settling permanently in Zeist, the Netherlands, after World War II. Ruth van Baak Griffioen is a music historian at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia.
