Star Light

Star Light, portrays the trials and problems of a young black girl from slavery ancestry growing up in the inner city of Detroit. Star sets and embraces her goal to become a nurse going through the depression, wars, rejection and early attempts at segregation. A deep religious faith enables her to surmount many trials with love, forgiveness and caring for others. Falling in love toward the close of World War II, she marries, establishes a beautiful home, family life, and career sacrificing to help young, inner city mothers to birth healthy babies. The struggle of Black nurses to obtain equal status with whites in the A.N.A., Star brings consolidation to fruition along with achieving more women's rights. Assisted by International Aid, with her surgeon husband, Paul, Star spends 6 years building and operating a hospital in Kenya, Africa. Subsequently they answer the call to duty when tragedy strikes America on 9/11.
