Selected Contemporary Chinese Short Stories

A selection of short stories from noted Taiwanese writers from 1949 to the present, designed to supplement intermediate-level Chinese language curricula with exciting cultural material. Included are such writers as Meng Yao, Wang Ting-chun, and P'eng Ki. A brief biography of each author is included in each section, along with detailed English annotations. Both the Yale Romanization and the Mandarin phonetic symbols are used in the transcription of all entries. The actual stories, in traditional Chinese characters, are found in a separate section at the back of the book.
