Lou Orfanella is a New York based teacher and writer. He holds degrees from Columbia University and Fordham University. He is the author of the poetry collections Composite Sketches, Permanent Records, Summer Rising, River Flowing, and The Last Automat. He contributed a chapter to the book Rationales for Teaching Young Adult Literature and has published over one hundred articles, essays, columns, reviews, and poems in numerous national and regional magazines, newspapers, and journals. He does frequent public readings of his work and teaches writing at Western Connecticut State University and English in the Valhalla, New York school district.
