The Old Testament was written with the primary purpose of pointing the way to the coming Messiah. The New Testament was written with the primary purpose of identifying the Lord Jesus Christ as the Messiah. This work of prophecies pertains to the First and Second Comings of Jesus. He came the first time as Savior, He will come again as Redeemer. All of the Old Testament prophecies per-taining to His First Advent were fulfilled.
