The subject of this book is surviving imprisonment in concentration camps and continuing to live with that traumaticexperience. It is based on oral history interviews withJewish women who were imprisoned in the women's campat Ravensbrueck. Originally from Poland,Hungary,Germany,the Netherlands and Czechoslovakia, most of them emigrated to the USA as "displaced persons"; when the interviews were conducted their ages ranged from 66 to 87 years.
