SUMMARY

Peter is a wild brown pelican which started coming to Pop's dock in Georgia around the year 2000. At first Pop would throw him scraps of trout as he cleaned them, and the delightful pelican would dive into the water for the pieces of fish. The pelican continued to show up when Pop was on the dock, and after a while Pop began to call him Peter, which became his name. Soon, the big bird would come when he heard the sound of Pop's voice and his new name. Then, Peter started sitting beside Pop when he fished off of the dock. When Pop would catch a fish, he would take it off the hook and feed it to Peter. As time passed, Peter developed a trust for Pop and a friendship blossomed between man and bird. Now, Peter usually arrives in November of each year and leaves sometime in April. Pop always looks forward to Peter's return, and it is a sure bet that Peter looks forward to seeing his human friend as well --not to mention, his enjoying those delicious fish Pop catches and feeds him.Pop is the author of 'Peter The Pelican: Look Before You Leap', published 2007 under ISBN 9780979278044 and ISBN 097927804X.
