Papa and the Secret Train

"This story was inspired by my great grandfather, Eugene Jim ?Papa? Shaw. Those who knew him often spoke of his love for the community and beauty his ?adopted? hometown of LaGrange, North Carolina possessed. This was my motivation behind recruiting several illustrators from the community for this project. These illustrators include two accomplished artists, an elementary school principal, and students from the community of La Grange, North Carolina.For this story I have combined historical events from Eugene Jim Shaw's life with fictional characters, places and events to bring his story to a new generation.
