New, reset and corrected edition. The Rebbe the Tzemach Tzedek, is known to the world of Torah by his book of responsa, novellae on Talmud etc., entitled Tzemach Tzedek. But the Tzemach Tzedek also composed a vast number of Chasidic Discourses, sermons, explanations and private writings on the Torah of Kabala and Chasidus.The discourses in the volumes of Or HaTorah were first printed in 5673/1813 in Berditchev (two volumes, on Beraishit). A volume on Shemot was published in 5710/1950, edited by The RebbeYosef Yitzchak, and thirty-eight volumes have appeared in total, arranged according to the parshiyot of the Torah, Chanukah, Purim, the three Festivals, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.The Lubavitcher Rebbe has praised the spiritual wealth of Or HaTorah, an explanation of the written Torah interwoven with the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud, Sifri, Sifra, Kabala, Etz Chaim and Pri Etz Chaim (of the Arizal) and Midrash: In it one can see openly revealed G-dly light, for the inner theme of the Tzemach Tzedek is daat (knowledge, in the sense of unity with Divine Intellect), and the inner theme of daat is light.In the year 5752/1992 a new, large-format edition was launched, according to the instructions of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of which eight volumes have appeared, on parshiyot in Vayikra and Bamidbar.Appendices include sources, manuscript references, facsimiles of manuscripts and a chart with corresponding page numbers to previously printed editions.Schneersohn, Menahem Mendel is the author of 'Or Hatorah - Bamidbar Volume 1', published 1995 under ISBN 9780826653741 and ISBN 082665374X.
