Nation & Novel A Study of Persian & Kurdish Narrative Discourse

The emergence of nation-states in the Middle East during the early decades of the new 20th Century is more or less parallel to the emergence of a new narrative discourse, i.e. the novel. This almost simultaneous emergence raises a question as to whether there are some reciprocal relationships between the emergence of the nation-state and the novel. This study deals with the genre of the novel in Persian and Kurdish literature.
