Mystery of the Lake

This second tale in the series follows the children of Utt as they go down to the lake for a swim. The water parts as they reach the far side of the lake and they see a strange creature that fills them with dread. They rush back to town to tell Barnaby the mayor and with vivid imaginations recall seeing a fearsome monster. As the story unfolds, young readers learn not to rush to conclusions and be frightened of things they don't fully understand.
