Gary Evans is a professor of music and director of library media at Ferrum College in Virginia. In 1994, the University of Rochester (New York) selected him as a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Fellow in the area of twentieth-century music studies. He is a pianist and a composer, serving as composer-in-residence for the Franklin County Chorus in Virginia.
