Since May 2000, the Pew Oceans Commission -- an independent group of American leaders -- has conducted a national dialogue on policy changes needed to restore & protect living marine resources in coastal waters of the U.S. This report addresses how well the U.S.'s fishery management laws, institutions, & policies are working to protect the nation's living marine resources, & makes recommendations for their reform.
