Lawrence Beesley (1877-1967), was an English teacher, journalist and author who was a survivor of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. One of the survivors of the sinking of the Titanic in April 1912, Beesley wrote a successful book about his experience, The Loss of the S. S. Titanic: Its Story and its Lessons (June, 1912), published just nine weeks after the disaster. For her time, Titanic was unsurpassed in luxury and opulence. Although she was technologically advanced for the period, on the night of 14 April/15 April 1912 the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank, with great loss of life.Beesley, Lawrence is the author of 'Loss of the S S Titanic: Its Story and Its Lessons (Dodo Press)', published 2007 under ISBN 9781406537352 and ISBN 1406537357.
