SUMMARY

Randall Peffer As a boy, Randy hopped a freight train out of Pittsburgh, PA, in search of the King of the Hoboes. His mother claims he's still looking. A widely published feature writer, Randy has contributed to National Geographic, Smithsonian, Islands, Travel Holiday, Sail, Reader's Digest and most US major metro darlies. He is author of Lonely Planet's Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands, coordinating author of Virginia and the Capital Region and contributor to LP's two Unpacked volumes. He wrote National Geographic's Driving Guide - New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and two nautical memoirs, Watermen and Logs of the Dead Pirates Society. Randy captains a research schooner and teaches literature and writing at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. Kim Grant grew up in the Boston area and graduated from Mt Holyoke College in 1984. After two years of traveling around Europe on $10 a day, she was determined to make a living traveling, writing and photographing. Almost 20 years later, she is author or co-author of LP's Boston, Miami, Florida and USA, as well as Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket: An Explorer's Guide, Best Places to Stay in Hawaii (someone's gotta do it) and Best Places to Stay in New England. Represented by Lonely Planet Images, Kim's photography is also published under the Bindu Press imprint. Her shooting exploits recently took her across Vermont backroads to photograph sheep, cows and goats for The Cheeses of Vermont. Kim lives with her partner in a circa-1900 Victorian in Dorchester, Boston's largest, oldest and most diverse neighborhood. Andrew Rebold grew up in New Jersey but always looked forward to summers in Maine. After studying in Dijon, France, and backpacking much of Western Europe, he was addicted to travel. He earned a BA in Geography from Clark University, then joined the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa. He next came to LP as a cartographer. Andrew co-authored Africa on a Shoestring and contributed to West Africa. His passions include cycling, keeping his fingers crossed for the Red Sox, and sipping Moxie on the verandah while looking forward to a world with less complicated women. Andrew is pursuing a Masters of Public Health at Columbia University. John Spelman Martyn Bowden and David Venturo taught John to write during his sophomore year of college. Nineteen years earlier, moments after his birth in Providence, RI, he had been transported 5 miles across the border to Rehoboth, MA, before he was old enough to protest. Ever since, he's lied pathetically and often, claiming to be a Rhode Islander to people who don't even care. After 21 years of cushy New England living, John moved to San Francisco to be a nameless face in Lonely Planet's cartography department. In his spare time, John dreams about the preservation of New England's material landscape while trying to develop an understanding of urban design theory.Peffer, Randy is the author of 'Lonely Planet New England', published 0012 under ISBN 9781740590259 and ISBN 1740590252.
