Lonely Little World

I was born in Mexico in 1954. We were poor and lived in the middle of nowhere in the desert of Northern West Mexico. My family immigrated to the U.S. in August 1959. The following month I was diagnosed with tuberculosis and spent the next 2 years in a tuberculosis ward in isolation as it was done in those times. My father was a musician, so we frequently moved and I went to several schools before dropping out in the 9th grade.
