Incluso el nombre de "Colometa" (Palomita). Esta resignación termina con la guerra. Natalia se rebela contra lo que considera injusto. Dejará de ser "Colometa" para convertirse en "señora Natalia". Cambio de nombre que significa también un cambio de personalidad. Se juega con los símbolos: las palomas que la protagonista cría en su casa sirven de elemento simbólico para ir mostrando la evolución de su vida. A medida que se va quedando sin ilusiones, las palomas se van o mueren.
