SUMMARY

Jules Verne (1828-1905) was the author of innumerable adventure stories that combined a vivid imagination with a gift for popularizing science. Although he had studied law in Paris, he devoted his life entirely to writing. His most popular stories, besides A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), include: Five Weeks in a Balloon (1863), A Trip to the Moon (1865), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), Around the World in Eighty Days (1872), and Michael Strogoff (1876). In addition, he was the author of a number of successful plays, as well as of a popular history of exploration from Phoenician times to the mid-nineteenth century, The Discovery of the Earth (1878-80). Although best known for his role as Mr. Spock in the television series Star Trek, Leonard Nimoy is also a director, writer, and photographer. His directing credits include the films Star Trek III and Star Trek IV, as well as Three Men and a Baby and The Good Mother. He is also the author of two autobiographies and several books of poetry. As cofounder of the Alien Voices production company, he has brought to life classic science fiction and fantasy stories, including A Journey to the Center of the Earth, in dramatic radio-play format, both in audio and live onstage. His book Shekhina, a photographic essay on the feminine aspect of God, has created wide discussion.Nimoy, Leonard is the author of 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' with ISBN 9780451528964 and ISBN 0451528964.
