1950. The McLyrres are happy in their old Victorian house with five bedrooms and one bathroom. Suddenly it was all over. Curt McLyrre had been ordered to active duty in the United States Navy on March 1, 1951 in San Diego, California. Curt had been commissioned when he graduated in 1948 with a degree in electric engineering from the University of Colorado.
