Calvin Parker studied Japanese in the World-War-II Army Specialized Training Program at Yale University. He worked in Japan as a missionary and taught in the theology department of Seinan Gakuin University. Parker is the author of Jonathan Goble of Japan: Marine, Missionary, Maverick.
