Healing Hands, Healing Land A Novel

In medical school, Andy’s dream is to found a hospital for children. With her father, she establishes a non-profit foundation with that purpose. Friend Toni chooses marriage and a family. Tragedy strikes when her toddler, Benjie, is brain-injured in an accident, then, worse yet, simply disappears from home one day. Andy decides to name the hospital after the missing boy. Andy’s acquaintance with a fellow med student from Canada mellows into deep love. On completing their MD degrees, they marry, and perform their residencies in a Montreal hospital. One day the missing Benjie reappears in his family’s living room. Retarded, he cannot tell where he has been. Eventually his weakened body contracts pneumonia, and he dies. Andy’s foundation breaks ground for the hospital.
