The U.S. Nat. Intell. Council (NIC), a small center of strategic thinking in the Intell. Community (IC), prepared this report to stimulate U.S. policymakers to think creatively. It identifies global driversÓ & estimates their impact on the world over the next 15 years -- demography & nat. resources, technology, globalization & governance, likely conflicts & prospect for international coop., & the role of the U.S. The NIC gave overall direction to the year-long effort, assisted by colleagues from other intelligence agencies & offices. They sought out & drew heavily on experts outside the IC to help identify the key drivers & assess their impact worldwide.
