Floyd Sonnier (1933-2002), known to many as "The Artist of the Cajuns," was a lifelong resident of the Cajun Country of south Louisiana. An internationally acclaimed pen-and-ink artist, he graduated in commercial art from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette in 1961 after serving a brief stint in the U.S. Army.
