SUMMARY

Our success in showing you every corner of Thailand is a credit to our extraordinary writers. Although there's no substitute for travel advice from a good friend who knows your style, our contributors are the next best thing-the kind of people you would poll for travel advice if you knew them. The first time David Dudenhoefer visited Southeast Asia, he hitchhiked most of the way from Bangkok to Singapore. This time around he relied more on the local airlines to update the Side Trip to Laos chapter. He has contributed to six Fodor's guides during his decade and a half as a freelance journalist, during which time he has worked in 20 countries, writing and taking photos for dozens of newspapers and magazines. Mick Elmore arrived in Bangkok in 1991, ending a four-month trek from Melbourne, Australia. He has been based in the region ever since and now calls the capital city his home. A journalist since 1984, he writes for magazines and wire services. Mick first worked for Fodor's in 1998, adding his expertise to the Java and Sumatra chapters of Fodor's Indonesia. He has since journeyed to Colombia to write for Fodor's South America. In this book he took a fresh look at the Bangkok chapter and contributed to several others. Robert Tilley lives in a small village in Northern Thailand, his base for extensive travels throughout Southeast Asia and side trips to East Africa, where he is publicity director of a hotel management and safari company. Apart from his work for Fodor's, he writes for publications in Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He is the author of two books on Thailand: Beyond the Blue Mountain: a Thailand Diary and Noi Goes to England.Bluestone, Carissa is the author of 'Fodor's Thailand The Guide for All Budgets, Where to Stay, Eat, and Explore on and Off the Beaten Path', published 2003 under ISBN 9781400011438 and ISBN 1400011434.
