Field of the Blackbirds : Merchants of Time

By the end of 1448, Sultan Murad II is poised to invade Hungary, the only kingdom now standing between him and the rest of Christendom. Knowing about this, Sir Gregor Dahr Altair counsels the Regent of Hungary, Johann Hunyadi, to march against Edirne. It is a desperate act, but the only way to force the Sultan to turn his vast army around and defend the Imperial City of the Ottoman Empire. During the escapade, Sir Altair learns of a plot to assassinate Hunyadi, and that Thor already left the city to join the Ottoman army.
