This volume outlines the general aims and history of the project and covers the the period of work on three areas of Catalhoyuk from 1995-99. Excavation, recording and sampling methodologies are discussed as well as dating, 'levels', and the relationship between material found in/on floors and activities that took place there. The major implications and results of the excavations are then placed in their regional context. In addition, interpretive discussion is incorporated, bringing in animal bone, lithic, ceramic, micromorphology data analyses in order to make sense of the buildings, features and units. Commentaries from specialists, and the conclusions drawn from them, are developed forms of the 'priority tours' that took place during the excavation.Ian Hodder is the author of 'Excavating Catalhoyuk: South, North and KOPAL area reports from the 1995-99 seasons (Catalhoyuk Research Project)', published 2007 under ISBN 9781902937274 and ISBN 1902937279.
