Jacqueline Vaughn Switzer is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Northern Arizona University, where she specializes in public policy and administration. Professor Switzer holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, where she also attended the Graduate School of Public Policy. She taught previously at the University of Redlands and at Southern Oregon University, where she served as chair of the department. Professor Switzer has a broad spectrum of nonacademic experience in both the public and private sectors, and as a consultant in political campaigns in several states. Her environmental background stems from her work with the South Coast Air Quality Management District in southern California, and as a policy analyst for SouthernCalifornia Edison. Other books published include: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM: A REFERENCE HANDBOOK; AND GREEN BACKLASH: THE HISTORY AND POLITICS OF ENVIRONMENTAL OPPOSITION IN THE UNITED STATES. Dr. Switzer has also written DISABLED RIGHTS: AMERICAN DISABILITY POLICY AND THE FIGHT FOR EQUALITY, and has served as an expert witness on the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Her current research, conducted in association with the Ecological Restoration Institute at NAU, focuses on the use of administrative appeals and litigation under the National Environmental Policy Act, forestry policy, and the United States Forest Service.Vaughn, Jacqueline is the author of 'Environmental Politics Domestic And Global Dimensions', published 2006 under ISBN 9780495007999 and ISBN 0495007994.
