"EDA Bullying Workbook" -Many teachers requested I write another book that contains worksheets (interactive) and can be used in a classroom or at home: This book contains stories based on actual accounts of bullying and teasing. After each story we discuss bullying (among other issues). We also discuss the actions and behaviors of the characters and decide what we liked or didn't like, while making notes on how certain situations could have been handled better. Kids are asked to compare these situations to their own lives and think about what they have learned. There is also a Question & Answer section at the end of each chapter and extra paper provided in the back of the book for additional notes. Each story also shows examples of someone doing good, and helping someone out who is being bullied and/or in a difficult situation etc... I refer to these people/kids as EDA's (Every Day Angels). People taking time out from their own lives to help other people. They don’t have to do it. They don’t expect anything in return. They help people because they want to help. This is what I am encouraging the bystanders of bullying to do. In this book I am also encouraging kids to care enough to get involved in stopping negative behavior, especially people/kids hurting other people. In this Workbook we also work on building positive character traits, conquering our fears, making the right choices, and improving our self-esteem. We discuss what makes people how/who they are, and offer ideas on positive change. This book offers help & guidance & strength. It gives kids hope and empowers them. It is also a good book for bullies to read to help them understand how their behavior is affecting others, make them less angry, & give them something positive to aspire to. The stories themselves are written as adventurous & sometimes humorous in order to keep the readers attention so they become interested in the "lesson." Most importantly, the stories are Inspirational & Motivational. Children (& adults!) will enjoy this book & benefit from it. The lessons you take from it will last a lifetime.
