Don't Panic

David Brown, author of Don't Panic, You Can Do This! has been involved with health & safety education for over 15 years. Currently he is a Health & Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross in Syracuse, NY. In this capacity David trains other first aid professionals to become health & safety instructors. As an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science Department of Syracuse University, David also teaches undergraduate courses in Health & Safety. Through seminars, lectures and local training sessions, David teaches skills in First Aid & CPR to a diverse group of people in the community. David is a native of central New York State with a BA in Biology and Psychology from SUNY, Binghamton, and a Masters degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Empire State College Sigrid Brown, David's wife, provided the inspiration for Don't Panic She brings over 15 years experience to the project as a counselor and instructor working with developmentally disabled people of all ages with assistance in communication, social, financial and daily living skills. Originally from northern New York State, Sigrid's educational background includes a BS in Education and a Masters degree in Human Services Counseling from SUNY Oswego. She is also a volunteer with the Syracuse, NY chapter of the American Red Cross. Drawing on her experience working on communication skills with the developmentally disabled, along with her husband's desire to author an easy-to-use first aid guide, Sigrid conceived a format that can take nearly anyone step-by-step through most common first aid emergencies. She also served as the manuscript's primary editor.
