Does It Hurt When You Die?

For adults, death is sometimes difficult to fathom; for children, death may be a mystery. The story, Does It Hurt When You Die? was written after two deaths occurred in our family. The first death was Timothy Alexander Murphy, age twenty-eight, who was a son, brother, uncle, and godfather to B.J., one of his nephews. He died of AIDS after a five-year struggle. The second death was Timbo, the hamster B.J. got as a gift from his Mom and Dad. The questions posed by Hollie, B.J.'s four-year-old sister, inspired this story.
