A lawyer who was born in Canada, Mr. Lafaille has been a member of the bar in Quebec since 1967 and has completed studies for a Masters degree in Economics. From 1970 to 1976, he was Secretary of the Board and Legal Counsel to Loto-Quebec (Canada). In 1976, he established the Atlantic Lottery Corporation in Canada's four Atlantic Provinces and was ALC's first General Manager. In 1977, he returned to Loto-Quebec for an eight-year term as CEO. Following a year in the cable distribution business, in 1986 he joined GTECH Corporation, the multinational supplier of goods and services to the gaming industry and a US $1 billion company listed on the NYSE, as President of GTECH Europe SA. Mr. Lafaille left GTECH in September 2001. Mr. Lafaille has been an officer of international lottery organizations: - Member of the Executive Committee, Secretary General and honourary member of the International Association of Lotteries (1972-2000) -International Vice-President of North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (1980-1982) -Honourary member of the World Lottery Association (2000-present) Mr. Lafaille developed a training program for gaming executives and managers and is a consultant in the gaming business.Lafaille, Jean-Marc is the author of 'Dissected and Re-Assembled : An Analysis of Gaming', published 2005 under ISBN 9780976527206 and ISBN 0976527200.
