AUTHOR

Kurtz, Kevin, Powell, Consie

SUMMARY

Kevin Kurtz has loved books and nature since he was a child. In college and graduate school, he received degrees in English literature and elementary education. Despite his unrelated degrees, one of his first jobs after finishing graduate school was as a research assistant in a marine biology laboratory. Working on a project to study some of the denizens of the salt marsh, he quickly became fascinated with this ever-changing, ever-beautiful habitat. For the last seven years, he has combined all of these experiences as a marine educator and curriculum writer. During this time, he has written and edited the South Carolina Aquarium's award-winning K-8 curriculum, as well as curriculum activities for the World Wildlife Fund, NOAA, and the College of Charleston's COASTeam project. He is currently the newsletter editor for SeaScripts, the newsletter of the South Carolina Marine Educators Association. A Day in the Salt Marsh is his first published children's book. Kevin currently resides in the lowcountry of South Carolina where, as he always has, he spends a lot of time reading and exploring the natural world.Kurtz, Kevin is the author of 'Day in the Salt Marsh ', published 2007 under ISBN 9781934359198 and ISBN 193435919X.
