SUMMARY

David Whitehouse is executive director of The Corning Museum of Glass. He studied archeology at Cambridge University, and from 1966 to 1973, while holding the Wainwright Fellowship at Oxford University, he directed seven seasons of excavations at Siraf on the Persian Gulf. Subsequently, he was director of The British Institute of Afghan Studies in Kabul, Afghanistan (1973-1974), and The British School at Rome (1974-1984). In 1984, Dr. Whitehouse joined The Corning Museum of Glass, where he coordinated the Corning showing of the exhibition "Glass of the Caesars" in 1987 and co-authored the accompanying catalog.
