Continuous Improvement in the Science Classroom

Frustrated by efforts to improve performance in his classroom, Jeffrey Burgard looked outside the realm of education and into the business world for help. There he discovered the philosophies of Dr. W. Edwards Deming, one of the leaders of the quality movement of the 20th Century. Although normally used in a business setting, Burgard discovered that Deming's Total Quality Management theories were perfect for use in the classroom and brought about the improvements he was seeking.
