DUANE R. LUND is senior consultant to the Blandin Foundation and was a part of the original design and implementation team for the Blandin Community Leadership Program. He has a long background in education and public service, including twenty-five years as superintendent of schools in Staples, MN, and several years as staff member and chief of staff for the late U.S. Senator Edward J. Thye. He is the author of thirty-nine books, including Lessons in Leadership: Mostly Learned the Hard Way and Our Historic Upper Mississippi. He is the first-named honoree in the Dr. Duane R. Lund Staples Community Service Award.
