If we would have the rest of mankind believe in what we believe in ourselves, then we should place the facts of whatever those beliefs may be in such a clear and candid way, that the veriest sceptic is at least forced to respect such facts. In this argument-which must necessarily be a short one-I shall endeavour to carry out this principle. My experience in this work has taught me that people are only sceptical because they do not know.
