The first edition of this checklist was published in Russian 1976-79 and contained 1,247 species. Since then, the amount of information has been doubled, and the present list comprises 1,486 species. The aim of this checklist is to summarize personal results obtained from faunistic investigations, from the study of literature sources and collections of Geometridae in museums as well as from discussions with colleagues during the last thirty years.
