Presents the findings of a 2-year project to document & the experiences of youth with co-occurring mental health (MH) & substance abuse (SA) problems & their families. Offers youth & their families the opportunity to reflect on & give voice to their experiences, to identify their successes & concerns, & to formulate recommendations so that others might learn from their experience & improve services. Between 1997 & 1999, over 150 people from 10 states were interviewed. They represent a cross-section of youth ages 13-28 with co-occurring MH & SA problems & their families.
