David C. Driskell is Distinguished University Professor of Art Emeritus, University of Maryland; his paintings appear in many public and private collections throughout the world. He exhibited at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1993; in 2000, President Clinton bestowed the National Humanities Medal upon him Amy M. Mooney received a doctorate in American art history with specialization in African American art from Rutgers University.
